Elaine Chew attends the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin 7-9 November 2024 as the 2023 Art-Science Breakthrough member of the 2024 Art-Science Breakthrough Jury headed by Juliet Koss from Scripps College. The Art-Science Breakthrough, DataWagashi by Tiange Wang did the jury proud, with a fantastic presentation and samples for the lunch that followed.
Thanks to Andreas Portmann, Cornelia Maurer, and Chairman of the Falling Walls Foundation Jürgen Mlynek, Elaine was pleased to be included in a DHZB (Deutsches Herzzentrum Berlin) organised Executive Table on Charting a Path to Precision Heart Health, with thought-provoking discussions.
ERC representation was foregrounded at several sessions, including a Circle Plenary Table on Boosting Frontier Research: Europe’s Next Move chaired by ERC President Maria Leptin and an ERC Networking Event with the ERC President, Head of Scientific Department Angela Liberatore, and ERC grantees.
It was also an occasion to see the usual suspects Falling Walls Foundation Managing Director Andreas Kosmider and the mime (now Doctor) Klaus Franz who is an institution at Falling Walls, and re-connect and make new friends.
